Ten Reasons Why I Love Baseball

Unfortunately, I had to stay home from work today because my son is ill and the doctor wanted him to stay home for 48 hours. So, I am finally getting a break from his constant coughing while he naps, and I have decided to come post a little something for both your and my entertainment.
Many people wonder how I can enjoy baseball so much. Even the owner of the company I work for has told me that he has never heard a woman talk about baseball the way I do. I guess the question really is, why do I love baseball?

1. The Groupies… Er… The Fans

2. The Dirt

3.Β  The Stitching

4. The Thrill Of Knowing You Just Barely Made It

5. The Innocence

6. The Memories

7. The Tradition

8. The Loss

9. The Win

10. The Game

Baseball is a game of precision and passion.
It is a game of both strength and grace.
Baseball is more than just a game.
It’s a lifestyle.

  1. I couldn’t have said it any better myself. πŸ™‚

5 unhappy Braves? Almost a good as 1 miserable Jeter. Almost.

  3. Thanks, Steve.

Joe, why don’t you like my Jeter? πŸ˜₯

  4. Joe

I dislike the team. Not the man. Just picking with you.
But put him in KC and he is no where near as good as in NY.

This other baseball-inclined woman completely agrees with your asessment. And those photos are just beautiful.

  6. Brian

Braves as “the loss”… I am not amused….

  7. 10. Isotopes Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico…. love it! Where’d you find that image?

  8. Well, if anyone knows about losing the big games…. πŸ™‚

  9. Now, now, Brian…. Don’t take it personally. It was the only decent image that I could find. I’m a photography buff, I wasn’t paying attention to the team

  10. Albuqwirke, I found the photo on flickr by searching baseball. It is a beautiful photograph.

Hmmmm… alright. Everyone gets one mistake. I’ll allow it this time.

But from now on it’s free Braves cards for Brian anytime anyone disses them publically.

  12. I’m sorry but I’m disagree, because I think the baseball is the boringest sport in the world. It’s so zzzzz….

  13. I could sit here and correct your two sentences, but I would rather not. You’re entitled to your opinion. Thanks for the comment. πŸ™‚

  14. I just wanted to say I have been checking out these images a couple times a day for the last couple of days. It is an awesome post, and puts a smile on my face each time I look at them. Thanks

  15. Wow. What an amazing comment. You made me cry. Seriously. I am really touched. πŸ™‚

Nice post. I have to tell you that #’s 5, 6 and 7 really got me. I have a 2 year old son who loves to try to play and the opportunities to make these memories with him are wonderful.

Thanks for your post – keep it up!

    amen to everything you said.
i love the feeling you get when you hit the ball in just the right spot… and you know it’s going far.
and the feeling you get when you make an amazing play, and everyone is cheering for you. it’s a great feeling and a great game.
